London reveals its schedule: McQueen comes home, Christopher Kane debuts at Mulberry
From 17 to 21 September: returns, debuts, and a Marks & Spencer show marking a century in fashion, shoppable straight off the runway.
London is back in the game. The British Fashion Council has published the provisional schedule for Spring/Summer 2027: the shows run from 17 to 21 September, and the calendar carries several names that had been missing from it.
First, McQueen returns to show at home in London under Seán McGirr. The decision is credited to new chief executive Gianfranco D'Attis, in post since June.
The second storyline is Christopher Kane. His own label closed slowly and painfully, finally shutting in 2023. He took over as creative director of Mulberry in March and will present his first collection there in September.
Marks & Spencer marks a century in fashion with a co-ed, see-now-buy-now show: whatever walks can be ordered on the spot. Barbour opens the week with a presentation; Burberry closes it.
The backbone is familiar: Erdem, Simone Rocha, Ashley Williams, Harris Reed, Emilia Wickstead, Knwls, Ahluwalia, Roksanda, Richard Quinn, Natasha Zinko. Chopova Lowena stages its annual catwalk after last season's crazy-golf presentation, with Paolo Carzana and Aaron Esh — also creative director of AllSaints — among the highlights.
Debuts abound. Sweden's Petra Fagerström takes the London runway for the first time, while Francesca Lake and Gui Rosa give their first presentations. All three are NewGen recipients, the BFC scheme backed by Pull&Bear.
Council chief executive Laura Weir puts it plainly: the schedule reflects the confidence of British fashion today, bringing established houses, emerging designers and industry partners onto one platform.
